Drug Abuse Screening Test (DAST)

(The DAST screening quiz is intended to be informational in nature only and is not a stand-alone diagnostic tool. A comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Assessment administered by a Substance Abuse professional is required to provide a definitive diagnosis for Drug Abuse or Dependence.)

The following questions refer to the past 12 months. Carefully read each statement and decide whether your answer is yes or no. Please give the best answer or the answer that is right most of the time.

For the purposes of this screening test, drug abuse refers to:

1. The use of prescribed or "over the counter" drugs in excess of the directions
2. Any non-medical use of drugs

Remember, for the purposes of this screening test, the questions do not refer to alcoholic beverages. The DAST does not include alcohol use. The quiz will be scored correctly only if you answer each question. Information about your quiz results will NOT be transmitted over the computer. Your own computer web browser does the scoring.
